Welcome to the forums. Did you do any spelunking? We've been to the Devils Den many times over the years and my Grandfathers name is on the wall there as one of the builders " Elmer Cook"

Stayed out of the caves this trip. We have had a lot of rain and everyone we say look pretty muddy. We live about 25 miles from the park so we go often.

Welcome Hogcall from the Southern part of the state. Great camping at Devils Den this past summer. Do you ever get down to the Hot Springs area. Great camping here also.

Fill us in on the area around Hot Springs. I have a few meetings a year in the area and could make a camping trip out of them. I am open to new ideas. Thanks

Around Lake Ouachita there is the State Park with excellent camping...many with full hookups. The COE has Crystal Springs, Brady Mountain, and Harbor Mountain. My choice is the State Park. Also appears to be the choice of people from Texas an Louisiana, we get a lot of visitors from those states.

Lake Catherine has a nice State Park and they are rebuilding much of it. Will have new bath houses and many sites with full hookups. You may want to call ahead to check on the status of the rebuild.

South of Hot Springs about an hour is Lake DeGray State Park. Degray is also a pretty lake.

Hot Springs itself has much to do to take the tourist's money. Depending on the time of year you may have horse racing, Magic Springs Park, the Bath Houses that are being rebuilt etc. Get a lot of people taking their vacation here.

I hope I don't regret doing this when I can't get a site this summer. :o

Well worth the trip.
