Making an offer just for the heck of it

Unread postby mikhen on Mon Jul 07, 2008 11:26 am

On Saturday I had to run to the dealer for a flush kit since our black tank was clogged. Wife stayed at the CG. They had a Keystone Outback on display. We looked at the Outbacks but didn't like the floor plans. Now they have a new floor plan and it has everything we wanted but couldn't find when we were looking. We are gonna tell them that if they can match our payments, we'll take it. Doubt thats gonna happen. Any experience with Keystone??

Never owned one but I've seen lots of posts from folks who really like theirs. They had some problems a couple of years ago that they solved by firing about half their work force after random drug testing showed they were coming to work stoned. They of course took some ribbing about their NAME and folks started calling them "Keystoned". At least they found out what their problems were are took appropriate action so that says something for them in my book.

As for the offer, most dealers won't entertain any offer that doesn't include some security deposit but sounds like you found one that will. Good luck / Skip

Looked at the Keystone, told the dealer what we wanted, and believe it or not, he got real close. BUT, then we started entertaining the idea of a Class C. We are refinancing our house this September, so after that and when the RV shows are on, I think we are stepping to a Class C. So Skip, next year we'll probably be in your neck of the woods visiting relatives near Salina.

We are only refinancing because of my bad credit history because of previous marraige.. We are locked in at a bad rate, 2 part mortgage till September. Then, we can move 2 1, lower rate mortgage. We are taking NO extra money on the refi. Just paying our mortgage and that's it.
For us to finance a class C works like this.....Truck payment for Avalanche + Payment for TT = MORE than a Class C payment for the same amount of time.
I agree that now is a bad time to do stuff like what we want to do, but the situation I am in needs to be taken care of.

We almost bought an Outback, but found the Tango and never looked back.
I liked the Outback, but couldn't find a floor plan we liked.
