Finally started playing

Unread postby mikhen on Sun Mar 23, 2008 6:35 pm

Finally had a chance to open up the slide and take a look at the upcoming projects. Roof cleaning and a good wash and wax hopefully next weekend. Inside needs a good cleaning and a few minor mods to make this week. Today I put in the easy door latch to open the screen door from the inside.

I HATE to see anyone disappointed so you have my permission to drop by my house and wash MY black streaks off. No ice around just a whole lot of lazy :D

..and when you've passed through Kansas it's only a short distance in Colorado to my place. I'll leave the cleaning gear out for you

The good news is that I can't see any black streaks. :)
The bad news is that it's because the winter cover is still on.
The worse news is that I'm trying to sell it before my new Rockwood gets here.
The best news is that I'M GETTING A NEW TT!!! (and it better NOT come with black streaks!)

That trailer is too new to have black streaks, it's only been slept in one night. LOL

True but we have had some serious rain late winter early spring. This trailer has gutter spouts much less streaking than previous sunline no gutter spouts. I read someone uses lava soap in a sock for cleaning black streaks I will try it it sounds like it will work.

I've had the best luck with some stuff called "Totally Awesome". Get it at Dollar General for $1.00. Try it first in some out of the way place to make sure it doesn't cause any damage to the finish. I've been using it for the past two years...works great for me.

The thing I found about black streaks is that just about ANYTHING will remove them when they're fresh. Let the sun bake them on for a while and it takes something special to do the trick. I use the Thetford Black Streak remover sold at Walmart and it seems to take off even the baked on variety. Best way to REDUCE the black streaking problem...clean the roof regularly.
