Repo

I posted this on the other forum and I was kind of surprised at the response. How does everyone feel about buying an RV that has been repossessed? There are some great deals to be found. Also, how do I go about finding them locally.

At least one of our local banks posts repossessed vehicles, boats & RVs periodically; it probably wouldn't hurt to contact banks directly to see what they have available. Dealers may have their share of repos as well.

My Daughter is a Credit Union president and they sometimes have to repossess RVs and currently have a two year old Coachmen Chaparral 5th wheel for sale. They have been advetising it in local newspapers but it's been on the market now for several months. I haven't inquired into the price they're asking but I suspect that MOST institutions do something similar and depend on local resources to market them.

One of our local dealers had bank repos that came from other dealerships that have closed. Brand new 2007-2008 models with full warrenties at 4.9% financing. Another has the same, with the Rv marked way down.
