Not camping. Working.

We do have reservation for 4 nights at a local state park, in a couple weeks.
Can't wait. We've only been out 6 nights so far this year.

We went to Curry Hammock State Park in the Florida Keys for the 3 day weekend.

And possibly we'll do a local CG in our area mid June.

Then July 3rd for the 3 day weekend we go to Lake Kissimmee SP near Orlando.

After that NO trips till the BIG one from 7/25-8/10 when we hit the road for
the NC/GA mountains...........

Diesel will be $6.00 a gallon by then - but I got a credit card and I'm-a-goin!

Just got back to work from a kick-butt case of pnemonia  ! Spent a couple of days in the hospital, then another ten days recuperating at home. (Well, maybe a couple of days at the camp grounds 8-) 8-) .) Since the home computer fried, and I'm too cheap to replace it right now, I have to rely on the work computer to get on line.

Oh well, almost back to normal now, can't wait for the week-end!!

It's graduation week here and we are honored to have a grandson graduating this year on Saturday morning. The celebration is Saturday afternoon and then on Sunday we will be headed for the hills of Colorado for a few days of laid back camping. The streams are running hard this time of year here so fly fishing is out of the question for a while. We are going hiking with our new pup and youngest granddaughter. They join us in loving camping and hiking so we will have a great time I'm sure.

Yes, It would be so nice.
The only problem with that is, I wouldn't want to go back to work after the summer is over.

I have had a bit of computer/internet trouble for the last week. I have also been too busy to sit on the phone with tech support for hours until today, but we got it fixed now!! (I hope, fingers crossed)

I was out of town last weekend (not camping unfortunately), and on the way home I got a chance to visit a couple of my favorite parks here in SE Missouri. First I stopped at River Road Park at Clearwater Lake Dam. The water levels of the lower basin where the water comes out of the lake are still extremely high from the Spring floods. Then I stopped at nearby Old Greenville Recreational Area, which just opened for Memorial Weekend due to flooding. There is still water standing in puddles in the park, and some of the walkways are closed due to flood damage. The park is located at the headwaters of the Wappapelo Lake and the lake is just now low enough for the park to be above water.

I am hoping for some dry weather so these parks can recover!

When we returned from out winter in Texas in late February, we parked the trailer, figuring we'd be back out in it again within a month but we just left on our first outing since, on May 28th and just returned this morning. Out of the 10 days we had 3 severe thunderstorms and 4 days of flash flood warnings and believe it or not, the weather was really GREAT for most of the trip. Had two of the thunderstorms during the night when they didn't interrupt anything at all and the third started around 6:00 AM and lasted until a little after 10:00 AM so didn't ruin the whole day then either. Most of the rain causing the flood warnings occurred further north and while we got the water, not the rainfall. All in all it was a pretty enjoyable 10 days of camping :D
