Identical models?

Unread postby PrivatePilot on Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:26 pm

Anyone ever camped anywhere and found a fellow camper with the exact same make/model trailer as you?

I figure it's gotta happen sooner or later, just curious if anyone has ever experienced it.

It happened to us in San Antonio last June. They not only had the same fifth-wheel but, they also had the same truck.

This happened to us last summer @ Lakewood CG in Myrtle Beach, SC. We wound up hanging out the whole week.
It is neat to see someone else with your camper. Especially since ours is a limited edition. Its also not in the NADA price guide. Every year when they asses it for property taxes I have to get it appraised. Its a paid in the neck.

Actually we see it quite often with the Rockwood and even occasionally with our old Coachmen. It DOES get our attention every time it happens. WE usually try to stop by and compare notes

Since last year's Elk Neck HTT rally was just that, a rally of folks with similar trailers, of course, we had friends with the same, although differnet marketing named trailers. Our good friends whose handle at "the other forum" is Hybrid233, has the Shamrcok named Forest River product which is exactly the same layout as our Roo 233.

Very few Zingers in our normal CG's, only camped with a 25rk which is different, but we were just glad to have a fellow Zinger with us :D

We don't even see ours in shows. Its a new model, so we'll see if we'll see any around. I'd love to see what they found and done, etc.

Only on rare occasion. Our HTT was a fairly popular model, but most of the ones we saw were in transit from mfg to dealerships. (We spent part of our vacation on I-80 in northern Indiana. ;) ) Our PUP was not a popular model, and I think in the 16+ years we camped in it, we saw 1, maybe 2 others like it. We still get excited if we see PUPs of the same year & make, actually - but the model is quite rare. (1988 Starcraft Comet) More exciting yet was when we had our '73 Chinook 18+. East of the Rockies, those are as scarce as hen's teeth, so the few (3) times we ever saw another one, we of course had to talk with the owners. Never saw another one with the same floorplan, though.

I imagine we'll see more like our new trailer, especially with the Rockwood "twins" to the Flagstaff line. Still, I'm sure the bunk models are more common than the rear LR ones.

Hasn't happened to me, yet, on any trailer I have owned! I would love to bump into someone with a similar model, so we could compare notes!

It's happened to us a few times.
A couple we meet on another forum have the same model as ours. We're in Louisiana and they're from Ohio. They came down last Fall and spent a week camping and visiting with us. It was really nice to see and discuss all the changes(mods) we did to personalize our trailers. :)

We've seen a few of the same model but a a year newer, it seems the 2008 Surveyor decals are more popular than what was used in the previous years.

We have a Zinger 5th wheel fiberglass side and I have never seen another. While we were in myrtle Beach this winter we had a Zinger tt backup to the back of us and stayed for a week. We became friends and enjoyed each others company. :D

We have never seen another model of ours anywhere. In fact so far haven't even seen any from the same manufacture as ours yet.

On our 2nd trip with our 08 KZ Spree 260FL, we saw one at same campground, but it was the superslide model rather than front living room. Haven't seen any other since on road or CG's.

Bought our Eagle 322 FKS last December and the guy on the end of our block just brought home the identical trailer. We haven't seen yet if he has the same color but it is the same year and model.

That's the only time it's happened to us in 40 years.
