Spring RV Chores

Unread postby mikhen on Sun Apr 20, 2008 5:28 pm

I don't think there are many newbies in this forum, but this may be good advice for all of us. Part of the getting ready to camp chores should be to replace the batteries in the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the RV. Just replaced mine, and before I did, the carbon monoxide detector didn't work.

Thanks for the heads up. After reading this I told the wife to put it on our list.

Spring is the time, I do the batteries and go through the converter and retighten any loose wires, both low voltage and the 120V C-B's. Generally go around the TT and at least look at everything, make sure the hitch set up is all secure and tight.
Just finished this afternoon. 8-)

I agree - found our indoor/outdoor thermometer stopped working and also (most, most important) the remote for the satellite box while at the lake this weekend. However - I do not want to get out of bed in 30 degree temps and switch the gas bottle over at 4 in the morning again - so it pays to make sure that you have both bottles turned on!

Great Tip!

Did mine last week (detectors and clocks) as well as washed outside from top to bottom, waxed, and put 303 on everything rubber/vinyl...and didn't even have a beer afterwards!

Maybe too much beer during the process?

It was a beautiful camping weekend but wife had to work. I spent the weekend preparing for this weekend.

Washed / Wax Trailer (needed it bad)
Wash Awning & dry out.
Replaced a “foot” on the awning.
Took Battery out - equalized and desulfated
Filled / Sanitized all holding tanks.
