Kiwi Visitors

Unread postby kiwiruss on Wed Mar 26, 2008 6:53 pm

Hi, My wife and I are New Zealanders who are visiting the US in 3 weeks for a period of 6 months. We will be touring around during that time.
We have learnt a great deal from other forums and I thought this new one would be good to get involved with. We are starting off in Oregon and travelling through California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Alberta, British Columbia, Washington and back to Oregon and California. We may kick off up to Memphis TN (Gracelands) from Texas if our time is going to plan.
We have bought a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 with the "Max Trailering Package" and a 2008 Arctic Fox 25S Travel Trailer in Oregon. They are sitting waiting our arrival in 3 weeks!
We have had a huge amount of help with our travel plans from some Kiwi snowbirds and fellow Arctic Fox owners in Oregon who will kindly host us on our arrival.
We have both visited the US several times but this is the first real "trip". Can't wait!

That sounds like a fantastic trip. I envy you spending that much time just touring the country. Our children have us on a kind of "short leash" and will only allow a couple of months at a time. I DON'T envy you that long long flight to get here though LOL. Hope you have a great and successful trip and let us, here on the forum, know if there is anything WE can help with anything. / Skip

Welcome aboard. It sounds like you will have a great experience. As you travel, keep in touch, the nice thing is that this forum is small enough that people will see your posts and may be able to help. If you decide to travel from Texas to Graceland, you will probably be coming across Arkansas. I can recommend some excellent state parks for you. Let us know.

Thanks for the welcome .Sorry my reply is late, we were away for a few days. In fact we went boating for the last time for about 7 months. Winterized the boat and said goodbye to the lake house. 2 weeks to go and counting!
Yes we will keep the forum up to date with our travels.

See you soon, Russell

Welcome Russell,
Sounds like a great trip. It seems like everytime we take a cruise, we find a group of Auzzies or those from NZ, who are on fantastic, long vacations. So enjoy and if you have any questions re California, we will try to answer even though we are new to RVing.

Keep forgetting that you folks are upside-down! You are just winterizing your boat and I am about to de-winterize mine!
