Campground activities

When you schedule a weekend trip, does it matter what activities they have? We like most activities and will schedule them into our plans, but we will also visit state parks.

the kids look forward to certain theme weekends and activities but I could care less about them as long as I have a campfire to tend to

I go camping to get away from scheduled things - just like to wing it! Of course with no kids it is much easier!

Personally I like anywhere where I can crack a few beers around the campfire and have a decent lake to put the boat on. :)
