Trailer is now home

Unread postby pwall on Fri Apr 02, 2010 11:33 pm

Brought the trailer home today since it was 25c out. :)
Will spend the rest of the holiday weekend getting it cleaned up and ready for camping season.

The refrigerator is dead though. It started acting up in the fall, now it won't turn on. It did for a few minutes, but then completely died. Checked the fuses etc, all look ok. In the fall, it lost it's ability to cool.
Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg to fix.
Patrick.

Ok, so, have you been 'shopping' over the winter?

Are there changes in rv fridges since you bought the trailer?

25' there, eh. We're only supposed to go to 17'C on Apr 3, 4, 5....

I knew the fridge was going to be trouble...it started acting up just as soon as we returned home from our last trip in the fall. At least it waited until we were done camping for the season.
It's going in tomorrow to VOS Trailers in Stittsville. They've serviced my trailer before, and have excellent customer service!

Dropped the trailer off today to VOS Trailers in Stittsville.
Initial inspection has determined that the coolant in the refrigerator is done.....I didn't notice all the yellow residue. :(
Anyways, it now needs a new fridge. I'll know tomorrow exactly how much that is going to cost.
It's a 6cu ft Dometic, apparently their new 7 cu ft will fit in the same space, so depending on price, I may consider upgrading to the 7 cu ft.....extra fridge space is always welcomed.

Just got a call from VOS Trailers. The 7cu ft is only slightly more than the 6 cu ft, so going to go with the extra space. It's only 1 cu ft, but more space is more space.
I'll have the RC back within 2 weeks....plenty of time for May long-weekend. :)
