Worried that the forum was gone. A few days too early for an April fools joke. Glad you're backup and running.

Hi guys, ok after transfering the server to a new server, I've noticed that everything came to a halt with the new server. What caused the initial crash was that we ran out of space on the old server. So to day I had to do another transfer of servers to a faster one. I'm extremely sorry for the delay this has caused but it was unavoidable in order to bring this place back up and running like it did before.

Unfortunately this will not be the last move since I found out in the process that yet again, we are in need of a faster server to run everything flawlessly. I have bought a new server exactly like the older one. Just to give you a heads up... We run VMWARE and all is ran from 2 and now 3 IBM X365 series Quad P4 dual core with 12 gigs of ram. Behind this I have 2 DELL Poweredge 2550 servers that run Openfiler and connected to this is a 12 bay SATA II Enclosure with right now 4 1TB drives and again behind all this I have 2 NAS 4TB enclosures that do a full mirror backup everynight. This is all Server grade equipment and it does not come cheap. Each 365 brand new is evaluated at $40K each.

This is a slow move in the right direction but a sure one in order to avoid crashes.

Again I thank you for your patience.

For me it is painfully slow. It has just taken me about 5 minutes just to get the reply window to come up to be able to post this. I use tabbed browsing in IE8 and always start with 4 sites on startup. All of them, except this one, come up flying, but over and over again it tells me it failed to connect on this site. I even e-mailed Patrick the other day asking if the site was down again.

Why is this happening?

In the morning before daylight, when lots of N. Am. sites haven't been tested, this site doesn't always come up & if yes, very slow.

I just try to make the rounds to some sites before starting the rest of the day.

Later on the speed is better.

I'm on wireless, rural wireless.

Hi Marc.

Speed varies...it seems like it's either painfully slow, or just fine. No in-between.
For example, it took several minutes for the page to load, but then clicking on 'reply' in this thread was immediate.

Yep all is fixe3d now and running flawlessly. Let's hope it stays this way.

All I have to say... VMWARE and Microsoft indexing on network drives don't go well together.

I wasn't on pre-daylight today. Speed is great. Still, it was the early morning speed I was being 'bitchy' about and I should get back to you.

Somebody over at the big neighbors called a major stretch of the Trans Canada a backroad. Still, thinking out further reply (without ranting too heavily).

Hey there Koppit, I'm having a hard time understanding what you are telling me but let me give it a try... Are you saying that the speed is good but the early morning are still bad for you?

Marc, I wasn't on this morning pre-daylight. That's when I was having the biggest speed problem.

I ran up something else where that took time to reply to.

So, I haven't tested after the fix.
