Fiberglass / gelcoat repair

Unread postby mikhen on Fri Mar 26, 2010 9:44 am

In a recent 70mph windstorm, something hit the back of our C and put a small dent in it and put about a 1" crack in the fiberglass. Since it was going in for inspection, I got an estimate for the repair. I was expecting about100-150. It came back $808 !! I know they make epoxy repair kits. It's on a flat panel to make it even easier. My only concern is matching the paint/ gelcoat. Any suggestion? It's a very small area.

Boat/marine supply stores usually carry a small cup of gelcoat patching paste[white].If u need color try mixing the correct paint w/the white paste.I've used lots on my jet ski.
