Water Leak

Unread postby rumrunner on Sun Mar 23, 2008 3:18 pm

I've noticed water on top of my slide when it is in, usually after a rain. So I got out the trusty old stepladder to see if I could figure out why. I thought maybe a seal was leaking. Come to find out, my gutter had (for some unknown reason) pulled away, with some breakage in the flange, from the TT body. A section about 2 feet long had about a 1/16th inch split. The rain water was going behind the gutter onto the slide top. I got my caulking gun and hopefully fixed it. I'll see with the next rain.
When all else fails, read instructions.

Hopefully that fixed it! Funny you should post about the slide roof - I was in the 5er earlier this week and happened to look at the slide roof. Saw a small cut in the rubber. I got an Eternabond patch from CW and covered the cut and sealed it no problem - good stuff, but expensive! $14 for a 6" square piece!

It should be good stuff at $99 a roll. Don't ask me how I know.

ALWAYS a good idea to catch those type of things as early as possible. I'm not sure I'd be waiting for NATURAL rain to check it out though. Turn on the sprinkler and work on your OWN timetable instead would be my suggestion. Good luck / Skip
