Season Ended Early

Unread postby mikhen on Wed Oct 21, 2009 7:57 pm

Looks like our last trip is washed out with the pending monsoon. Guess our last trip was 2 weeks ago. It was hard to do, but we canceled this weekend. Enough to do around the house to somewhat keep my mind off of camping. Maybe a backyard fire or a driveway campout will somehow help the off season go better. It's a sad time of year, but we'll call our first year in a motorized RV a success. Now, time to work on the Christmas lights.

Ours ended on schedule, but much earlier than last year, and last week's campout was soggy and cold (highs in the 40s). Oh well - we can always hope next year will be a bit more pleasant, and in the meantime have lots of good memories to savor from this year's trips. :)

Mine ended early too......last weekend out was Labour Day. :(
We usually camp up to Thanksgiving Weekend (Canada). But courses on Saturdays really sucks.

Looks like this coming weekend will be summer weather again, you know, drizzly, rain and scattered showers. probably going to cancel my weekend campfire

I'm all winterized - boat and 5er. I was hoping to get one more trip in this year, but with a Winter Storm heading in tonight I decided to tune up the snow blower last night instead of stocking the RV! Bummer :(

Sure did - about 2ft of measured depth, but with the high winds I had drifts upwards of 4ft. Snow blower was worth its weight in gold - my driveway is over 300 yds and in years past that has meant a whole day of digging. This time I got out in about 2 hours! Today, it is in the 50s and it is melting fast. Typical Colorado! :)
