Factory GM Brake Controller

Unread postby Bigrig793 on Wed Jun 15, 2011 7:53 pm

I have a 2010 GMC with the factory brake control in it and I would like to know if anyone else has this and what they think of it. My 5th wheel is close to 16000lbs loaded and I have the brake controller set to the maximum, I know it works because if you apply the trailer brakes manually you can feel it working. But slower driving in town it feels like the truck is doing all the braking. The last truck I had I installed a Tekonsha P3 brake controller and you could feel it working especially in stop and go traffic when pulling through cities, I know there is a lot more settings on the aftermarket controller but I'm just curious what others think of the GM factory controller.

I have the GM integrated brake controller in my truck and like it a lot. I feel the braking is more in tune with the truck. However, my trailer is no where as heavy as yours!
You may also want to post your question on GM-trucks.com (I'm a member over there).

Found this thread over at duramaxforum.com regarding the IBC. A few posts pointing to bad grounds.
