Trip to Oregon Coast

Unread postby mountainman on Fri Sep 19, 2008 10:44 pm

Just returned this afternoon from our trip to the Oregon Coast. Had a great time seeing the sights and best of all we had no troubles along the way. Logged 3200 miles and burned my allotment of fuel for some time to come. Paid as much as $4.05 and the cheapest was on the Oregon Coast at $3.54.
Stayed in some wonderful State Campgrounds in Idaho, Oregon, and last night out in Colorado. We had no reservations and were able to get a site each afternoon.
I will say that I can give testimony that the interstates need major work. Even some of the concrete portions that appear newer are very rough driving on them is not a pleasant experience. We stayed pretty much on the two lanes on the way back and and found them to be somewhat superior plus there were very little traffic on many of them.

Great pictures of the stacks. We've always loved the Northwest and will be returning again soon ourselves. Couldn't agree with you more about the condition of many of our highways. For some reason our politicians believe we'd rather NOT maintain our infrastructure that has built up over the years so the only thing they say is "tax cut" instead of "control spending". Glad the trip went well.
