Our New Spree and Shake Down Trips

Unread postby JQSpree on Mon Mar 17, 2008 11:57 pm

I am still trying to figure out how to best post pics here. In meantime, I have created album of a few of our photos so far with the Spree. Check it out. http://www.community.webshots.com/user/jq4653 Hope you enjoy. And I will work on how to best post selected photos here.

It looks like this site will not allow link to a photo site. I will have to read up on more instruct./rules and try again. Sorry.
Maybe Skip will have answered my question tomorrow.

No restrictions here that would prevent it, no worries - but I think that the URL you posted has an error in it.

Double check and try reposting the full URL to your photo site.

You're still not getting the complete URL. It should end in .jpg if it's coming from webshots. On the right hand side of their page there is a place you can select the size you want to display. After making that selection you can click the link that says "direct link to photo" (the center option) and that should help you. Good luck / skip

Thanks Skip, I will try that tonight when I get home. But my last post should give you the right link. It works for me. What threw me off is that the first part is different than all my other albums. Try it and let me know.

I tried your link but it took me to the ALBUM not an individual photo. I'm betting this is the photo you're wanting to post.

Thanks Skip,
I was trying to post the link to the album I set up the trailer and our first two trips. Until I can figure out how to post photos directly to this site. When I go to Webshots and try to copy several photos, it will only let me do one at a time as a free member. So not sure how to best put multiple photos here? Do they have to come from a photo sharing site rather than directly from my pc?

The second link you posted did link successfull to your gallery. Great looking trailer!

When you get another batch of photos let me know and I'll see about putting one into rotation on the main page - I couldn't find any that would crop suitably (due to their size/aspect ratios) for the page in your current batch, unfortunately.

You know I'm kind of new around here also LOL and still learning. Turns out there is an easier way and yes, you can upload directly from your own hard drive. During the writing of a post, if you scroll down to the bottom of the panel you will see a tab labeled "upload attachment". If you select that tab it'll lead you through locating the photos on your computer for upload. After you have them located you'll see a link that says something like "add the file" then select "place in line' and that puts them in your post. Either method will work I'm told. Good luck / skip

PP
Ok, sounds good. What is the best size to post here from aspect basis? I can crop them any way. It just bums me that I took the time to put them all on webshots so I could then transfer to this site and no can do. I will try direct.

Yep, you can link directly from that gallery no problem, see above.

Here's the routine- Click on the image (at webshots) that you want to post here.

Now, once your looking at just the one picture, you'll see a little tool-bar in the right bottom corner of the picture. The second last icon is a little blue folder looking thing and when you mouse-over it it pops up a little bubble saying "copy the code to post this image in a forum."

Click on this button.

Another window will open giving you some options - first, select a size - the one I posted above was using the 500 pixels option. Once selected, now highlight all of the text in the "link directly to image" window and copy it to your clipboard using CTRL-C (or a right mouse click and select "copy").. Be sure to get it all, start to finish - there's more there then what is displayed in the small window.

Come back to rv-forums.org and open the post window here. Now, see across the top of the response window where there are a bunch of buttons, one saying "IMG"?

Click on the "IMG" button. Two tags will pop up in your text window that look like this:

[IMG][/IMG]

To display your image, you just need to paste the address you copied earlier between those two tags - so, click on the space between the two tags (right between the square brackets) and paste the URL you copied earlier in there. Use CTRL-V, or right click your mouse and select "paste".

So, you should end up with something that looks like this:

Now just submit your message, and your post will come up with the image linked inline with the post.

Thanks PP, sounds easy. I was in that location and I thought it was trying to post links rather than the photo. And I could never get to the JPG ending as Skip described. As soon as things slow down from Easter, I will try to play with this until I get it right. Then its the photo in the sig as already described by someone. Thanks again. My album will stay empty for now.
