Planted Airstreams along side of I-4

Unread postby Clyder on Mon Mar 24, 2008 10:31 pm

Here is a picture I took yesterday while driving on I-4 just east of Tampa, near Plant City. It's a display put together by the Bates RV Dealer on their property next to the Interstate Highway.

From what I read, the local authorities are not at all happy about what this guy did - he's a local Airstream dealer and did not get the appropriate permission to put them up. I doubt they'll be there long!

No WONDER those things are so expensive. Drought must be causing a poor yield or something :D

I've read in the local newspaper of the flak that local code enforcement is giving him for doing it and I think that it's totally rediculous. It's his stuff on his own property and not hurting anything. If it helps get attention to his dealership with getting more sales, then more power to him. I hope he will be able to keep this display.

I think code enforcement is worried about them becoming projectiles in the event of a hurricane

Good point. One that I hadn't thought of. They may not be anchored very well by the looks of them.
