Monument Valley Pictures

This is some of my favorite country so thought I would share them with you. Many of the Old western movies were made here and it is easy to see why. We came through this country a week ago.

Nice pictures. The first time we came through Monument Valley it was in a 1960 Pontiac Stationwagon we'd converted into a camper for Charlotte and I and all 5 kids. One stretch there was a sign saying "no services next 100 miles" and it scared the heck out of us since we SELDOM went 100 straight miles without some sort of break down. Brings back a lot of memories.

Skip I certainly can relate as a young child my family moved to Arizona in 1944 and it was a long way between any civilization. We carried those old canvas water bags and sometimes with those old cars the water went into the radiator instead of drinks for us.

I can also remember other areas where the signs proclaiming "LAST CHANCE FOR GAS" that were lined up all through the desert. Got so you didn't know which ones to believe but that 100 miles was for real.

Here's one I took a few years ago.
It is a Pano that was made by stiching 6 pics together.
