Posting Pictures

Can someone please tell me how to post pictures on my profile? I muddled through it once with Photobucket & I gather I can't do that any longer? Thank you so much. cwit

Hi.

From the main index page, click on 'User Control Panel' at the very bottom of the screen, then select the 'Profile' tab.
You'll see a listing of options on the left, click on 'Edit Avatar'.
Then you will be given the option of uploading an image from your computer, or linking to one on the internet.
Easier to just upload one.
Image restrictions though....maximum dimensions; width: 190 pixels, height: 150 pixels, file size: 39kB.

I'm assuming of course you meant the 'avatar', the picture to the right of each posting. If not, let me know.
Patrick.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I really didn't get specific enough with my question. Yes, I meant the avatar, but my problem is resizing my picture down to fit the size you require. I managed to find a site where I could download the picture and shrink it down to 31kB, but can't get it down to the 190 x 150. And, to tell you the truth, I've been to so many sites, I can't remember which one finally did it....Flickr.com maybe? Do you have a site that you use? If I can shrink a picture, I think I can get this done. (famous last words!) Thanks again, Linda (the other half of cwit)

It CAN be done through Photobucket. BUT, you now have to access your Photobucket account at least every 90 days to keep it active.

Not all of us can see pics hosted by Photobucket. I'm one of them. In part that depends upon the settings on the member's computer. I can only see about 20-25% of this pics put up by N. American users, but can see a good 80% of Australian users.

Picture Trail, Webshots, Flickr, picasa, tinypic are some other photohosts.

http://www.tinypic.com/ is one of the easiest hosts to use. You can resize your pics as you do your instructions for uploading them. & they tell you what code to use for posting on forums.

You can also go down below and 'upload attachment' from your computer. But that pic needs to be just 640 pixels wide.
