Having read so many glowing reports about Topsail and several other Florida state park campgrounds, we decided to include one in our Southeast trip itinerary. I had hoped for Topsail, but sites we'd be comfortable in, size-wise, were all booked for the short time we would be there, so we chose instead to go to Blackwater RIver SP , northeast of Pensacola. We were not disappointed; this was by far our favorite CG of the entire trip, and we were so sad to leave it & head out for the rest of our trip. Had we not had appointments to visit with friends in other areas, we might have opted for another night or two. We had a really spacious, level, gravel site for $18/night with full hookups!!! That's unbelievable - in our area we pay $25/night and up for state park campsites with electric hookups only - and usually not as nicely appointed as our site at Blackwater.
If anyone's in the area, check it out. Lovely woods, great birdsongs, friendly cardinals (one flew in & sat on the picnic table when we were sitting at it!), just a wonderful place. Not all sites are really private, but even those are pleasant enough - ours (#11) was arguably the best of the lot.

I have no idea if all Florida state parks are this good, but if they are, they're sure worth the trip.
