What are Your Plans for the Long Weekend??

Unread postby odielovestocamp on Thu May 15, 2008 11:23 pm

Well it is the first long weekend of camping season!!! Yahooooooo!! We are heading out tomorrow night after work and camping with 35 of our closest friends. On Saturday, we all caravan between two towns lawn saling and then Saturday night have a big bbq and a bon fire. On Monday, 8 of us make bunch for all 35-40 people and we have a blast. I can't wait, just 1 more sleep.
So what are everyone else's plans?? Is anyone nuts enough to go swimming>>? I am sure my daughter will try it but I am going to wait until next weekend when we head out to another campground that has a very nice beach.
Happy Camping to all!!!! Hope you all have fun and a safe Long Weekend!!!!

We were going to go to the local Provincial Park (about 10 minutes from our house) for another shakedown trip, but just before I made the reservation on Monday I looked at the weather forecast and it wasn't good.

It's stayed consistently bad all week, so I never reserved....looks like that might have been a good decision. The weather is typically always bad on the long weekend, so I guess it's a good thing we got away last weekend.

Just checking it now it looks like Sunday/Monday might be a possibility, so we might yet get away for a last minute thing.

Yard work for us too. We just got back from 6 days of camping, though, and enjoyed the peace & quiet. We're happy to leave the holiday weekend to the party crowd. :)

That one of the really great perks of being retired. Being able to stay OUT of the campgrounds on the big three holidays :)
